    Q: What insurance carriers do you accept?
    A: Lafayette General Imaging accepts most insurance plans, please see the below list. Some insurance plans require pre-authorization and/or a referral. We will work with your referring physician to obtain these. We will ask for a copy of your insurance card and any referral form that is required by your insurance company when you arrive for your appointment.  We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and Aetna on Tuesday and Thursday.

    Q: Who performs the exam?
    A: A registered technologist who has had extensive training in radiological procedures.

    Q: How do I get my reports?
    A: You or your physician may notify us prior to your appointment and we will deliver your films to your physician. You may also stop by the facility and check out your films to bring with you to your appointment if you prefer. Please call in advance so your films will be ready.

    Q: Who will interpret my exam?
    A: A radiologist that has pursued specialized medical training in diagnostic radiology will interpret your examination and provide a written report to the ordering physician. All Lafayette General Imaging radiologists are Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology.

    Q: Is a MRI safe if I am pregnant?
    A: Your physician and a Radiologist will discuss your case to determine if the MRI is medically necessary. Your physician will talk to you about the risks and benefits. You will be asked to sign a consent form at the time of your examination and will be able to consult with a Radiologist if you desire.
