Taking from the best of both worlds, Siemens has combined the imaging capabilities of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) and created the biograph™ 16 PET/CT system.
And Lafayette General Imaging has it.
The biograph 16 gives doctors and patients more of what they need: finer detail, superior image quality and a more efficient scan.
Using LSO (Lutetium Oxyorthosilicate) crystal technology the biograph 16 can increase resolution of PET/CT scans by more than 250 percent offering doctors a powerful tool in diagnosing and treating disease as well as reducing scan times. PET/CT is especially useful in detecting heart valve viability, Alzheimer's versus dementia and tumors throughout the body.Although a typical scan may take anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes, some full-body scans could take less than 15 minutes.
